Vale Royal Strings at Vale Royal Abbey

We are Back.

We are planning to have rehearsals on 2nd November and 16th November at Appleton.

Starting at 8.00 pm with Adam Kornas to play through Brandenburg 5 with Andrew Millinchip (harpsichord) and Charlotte Crosby (flute). Other music proposed for a concert at St Peter’s Little Budworth Sunday 20th March is:

·        Bloch- From Jewish Life (soloist Alison Burns)

·        Dag Wiren – Serenade

·        Kornas – Verdant Vales

·        Alan Lees- Three Thingummies

A rehearsal schedule will be available soon.

For our second period we hope to have Duncan Anderson as viola soloist for a concert as part of the Knutsford Music Festival in June 2022. Programme to be confirmed but to include

·        Bach Viola concerto,

·        Howell Elegy for Strings (with Duncan as soloist)

·        Dvorak Serenade for Strings

Our AGM will be held on 16th November  – it will be short.

The Vale Royal String Orchestra brings together experienced non professional musicians. It was formed in 1993 and performs regularly at local venues. The VRSO plays primarily for the love of music and to support local charities.

In normal times there are two rehearsal periods over the season ending with a concert. Rehearsals are held at Appleton Thorn Village Hall.
